Lawrence Welk had a nice run on television playing “Champagne Music” to a mostly senior crowd of American viewers. It was all bland and totally uncontroversial.
Well one week, it appears that Welk went asleep at the switch.

As far as I can see it, trading Bout for Griner and Whelan is like trading Ty Cobb for Ernie Fazio and Ray Busse.
The Russians now want Lou Gehrig added to the deal.
