Well, it’s Saturday night and my week of vacation is coming to a close. We weren’t able to take a trip this time so we did some things in the Houston area. Here are some photos of what we saw:
Houston Museum of Natural Science
Our first stop is at the Houston Museum of Natural Science which is located a couple of miles south of Downtown as part of the Hermann Park complex that includes the zoo, golf course and outdoor theater.

That structure on the left is the base of a statue of Sam Houston riding a horse. I couldn’t get everything into this photo and thought the green grass was more interesting so Sam didn’t make the cut.

One of the anchors or the Museum of Natural Science is the Cockrell Butterfly Center which is a tropical habitat housing an amazing array of butterfly species among appropriate tropical fauna.
