The Berry Center

This afternoon I went out to shoot some photos of the Berry Center.  Would it not be cool if the Berry Center were named after Chuck Berry?  Well it is not.  It is named after Richard Berry.  Sadly, not this Richard Berry.  The Richard E. Berry Educational Support Center is a multi-purpose complex owned by the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District.  It is named after a former superintendent of the district.  For the OKC folks, Cy-Fair is a lot like Putnam City in that it was originally a rural district that got swallowed up by the city.  The facility includes an 11,000 seat football stadium, an 8,300 seat basketball arena and lots of space for meetings and seminars.  One of the local churches uses the facility for their Sunday services.

Here is a shot of the main entrance.  Caution: very large files.

Here is a panoramic shot of the main building.  It is huge.  The stadium is on the right.

I am not happy with that shot.  I was so busy worrying about panning the camera smoothly that I did not notice that I was cutting off the top of the building.  I am going back to re-shoot later in the week.

Here is a view of the field and “home” side of the stadium…

…and the “Jumbotron”.

Check out these rules of conduct.

The Rules

Crikey, how can a kid have any fun without balloons, Frisbees and Silly String?

I learned something today.  I have been getting “blue” shadows.  After doing some googing I found that I had the white balance on the camera set wrong.  I need to be setting that right instead of trying to fix it in Photoshop.
